Program Offerings
Songs of the Founding Fathers is a musical concert featuring a variety of catches, glees and part-songs that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry would have heard in the colonial capital. This program also includes anecdotes, tales of old Williamsburg, and a look at life in 18th century Virginia. Performed in beautiful period costumes, the program is between 20-60 minutes in length, depending on the venue.
A Capital Concert consists of American music, spanning four centuries, for small singing ensembles. This program would be an excellent presentation to culminate a large dinner or corporate event. Presented in 18th century costumes, this program celebrates American song from old Williamsburg to modern Washington D.C. The program is 20 minutes in length.
The Joys of Christmas is a celebration of American Christmas music and traditions from 1700 to the present day. Presented in 18th and 19th century costumes, the concert is filled with popular Christmas songs that families have sung for generations. This program is 20-60 minutes in length, depending on the venue.
A Christmas Tree Dinner or Christmas with the Tucker Family of Williamsburg is a wonderful evening spent in the St. George Tucker household of Williamsburg. The program includes 19th century Christmas music, readings of Charles Dickens, and a recreation of the first Christmas tree in America on December 24, 1841, at the Tucker home. The Christmas tree will be decorated with ornaments, as described in the Tucker family history. The children in the audience will get the chance to help decorate the tree. This program works well as a play to be performed during a meal (presented between courses) or as a concert event. Performed in beautiful 19th century costumes, the program is 60 minutes in length.
A Very Virginia Christmas is a program based on readings from the popular book by Wilford Kale. This program includes songs and reading that tell about historical events in Virginia during the holiday season. This program works best in a concert setting. This program lasts between 30-45 minutes.
Private parties and Concerts are also performed by members of the group, in duet, trio, quartet and our traditional quintet style. Songs from the 1800s thru present day are available upon request. The length of performance is based on the need of the event.
